About us:
Think Planners is a Parramatta based boutique planning company specialising is all facets of the planning approval process, from inception and design through to obtaining project consent. Our office location is brilliant at the historical Mays Hill Gatehouse overlooking Parramatta Park. We have a small office of eight people meaning there is little room for office politics, and excessively complicated administrative procedures.
About the role:
Due to an increase in workflow and as part of our growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a competent and motivated Strategic Planner join our team. You will need at least 5 years of experience in planning and be responsible for the preparation of planning proposals, provision of sound planning advice, drafting development control plans, and involvement in design competitions.
It is an exciting time to be working as a planner in Western Sydney. The area is currently experiencing a significant period of rapid growth and change and there are many exciting urban revitalisation projects underway that are transforming both the Central River City and Western Parkland City.

Selection Criteria:
Essential Criteria
-
Tertiary qualification in Planning or a relevant discipline
-
Demonstrated extensive experience (5 years or more) in the formulation and implementation of strategic and land-use planning policy
-
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
-
Strong analytical, project management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targets.
Desirable Criteria
-
Previous experience in a local government environment and/or the development industry
-
Experience in development assessment and effective management of a high number of competing deadlines
-
Demonstrated experience in projects requiring a high level of urban design outcomes.
