Brad Delapierre brings 20 years of local government experience to Think Planners.
Brad left Melbourne in 1995 and commenced his planning career as a student planner at Baulkham Hills Shire Council in 1995 as a strategic planner. In 1997 he became a statutory planner and eventually a team leader of the Central Area of the Baulkham Hills Shire Council that was responsible for assessing development applications in the Norwest Business Park as well as the Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills Town Centres. In 2003 he joined Parramatta City Council as a Team Leader of the Major Projects Team and worked with a team of up to ten planners and associated technical specialists to assess a wide range of development applications from large commercial buildings in the CBD, industrial buildings in the Camellia precinct, shop top housing developments, medium density to dual occupancy developments. Brad was also the staff member responsible for attending and discussing a wide range of development applications with the Sydney West Joint Regional Planning Panel.
Brad joined Think Planners in 2015 and has been responsible for both project managing a wide range of development applications and preparing complex Statement of Environmental Effects as well as representing clients at IHAP, JRPP and Council meetings.
Having worked in both a rural release area Council and Sydney’s Second CBD, Brad understands a wide range of development applications from rural residential developments, release area subdivisions, tourist facilities, child care centres, boarding houses, Seniors Living developments, townhouses, residential flat buildings, places of worship, commercial, industrial and shop top housing developments. Brad also has experience in the Land and Environment Court and in the preparation of plans of management and CPTED reports.
Brad understands how Council’s operates and has a wide professional net of contacts in local and state government as a result of the 20 years spent in local government. Brad’s approach centres on building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including Council staff and clients to deliver projects that meet their expectations in a timely manner.
Outside of work Brad enjoys playing Baseball and going for bushwalks around Sydney with his family as well as going camping around NSW in his caravan.
Unusually for a planner who grew up in Victoria, Brad was the winner of the 2016 NRL Office tipping competition.
